I'm not sure what to do and need some help. I built my rig about 5 months ago everything is working flawlessly until last week. For some odd reason my PC fails to boot first time. It gets to the bios and then fezzes, i reset and then it works perfectly? I've not changed anything in the bios or changed hardware for it to act any differently.

So far all ive tried is loading motherboard to default settings but had no luck. Like i said it works flawlessly after the first boot attempt.

Any ideas?

Hello,

Have a few questions for you:

1)Do you hear any beeping sounds at all during this process?
2) Do you have any of your parts overclocked, such as graphics card or processor?

A few things you could try.

1) With the power cord unplugged from the wall, verify that all your power cables are properly and firmly seated, including the 8-pin CPU connector, and the CPU/HSF connector.

2 Can you unplug all external devices that are not needed such as a printer and any USB devices. Then try and boot it, Still the same problem?

Sounds like POST is failing then it's restarting with defaults, this is what happens if say an Overclock on CPU/Memory fails on my asus board, but since you're already running defaults I'd say try disconnect all peripherals firstly and see if you have an issue.

If not try disconnect internals like GPU, extra RAM, additional HDDs and such till you get to the barebones to see if the issue persists. Hopefully by this point it'll be gone and you'll be able to add/reconnect things and find the cause.
