Hey guys.

I got everything plugged in, however when I turn it on, the lights come on, fans spin, but thats it unfortunately. this pc is made up of what was left of my old pc, which died, and my uncles pc, which was replaced... when I turn it on I get 1 long beep, same with both ram sticks, or just 1 or the other, or none. Tried a different graphics card.

I've checked post code beeps for award, and I've seen that 1 long beep, with a blank or incorrect display it means there's something wrong with video display circuitry.. which I guess would be motherboard?

Anyways I'm not entirely knowledgeable of such things. Any help I can get is appreciated.

I'm using a thermaltake 500W PSU, Gigabyte P35 DS3L, C2D 2.6ghz, 8800 GTS 640. x2 1GB OCZ 4200.

I also have a geforce 8800 GTS 512, C2Quad 2.6ghz, x2 1GB 67 (something) as extras to swap out if need be.

Hey guys. CMOS Battery, is that little circular one? and Yeah I have the power cable plugged in. I've got the 24 pin connector plugged in, the smaller 4 pin connector thats plugged in near the processor, the 6 pin plugged into the side of the graphics card. I have 4 2gb dual channel kits, i've tried each individual block of ram 1 on it's own, no dice. I changed the processor and still nothing. the HDD and DVDRW aren't plugged in. second I turn it on, it just does 1 long beep and nothing, it stays on, but no post. I'll try removing that circular battery, hope that will do the trick. thank you for the replies, and no offence taken mate, thanks for your input.

Just read that for award its 1 long then 2 short for video error?

All others indicate ram problem :(

Either both sticks are faulty or slots on mb are gone.

Did you try each stick in each slot?

I will try tomorrow, I only put them in the 2 yellow slots, the 2 red ones I didn't try, I will tomorrow and find out. when it comes on, it does 1 long 2 second beep, and just stays on, but if I reset, it beeps again and does nothing like before, but if the HDD and DVDRW is plugged in, it will beep, stay on, then beep again some 10 15 seconds later, almost like it's continuously restarting.
