Pc Faulty - How to uninstall OS

Hope everyones good @ OcUk.

I've got a faulty PC that won't POST for some reason or another.

Now, the HDD that was installed on this PC has my only Win 7 64bit key installed and as I can't get the system to boot to uninstall, how and what are the options for doing so? I also have files on this HDD I would like to recover.

Please advise it would be much appreciated.

connect the HDD as a second drive on another PC or use a external enclosure to connect it via USB.

this will allow you to get your files off it and then once done you can format the drive to remove the windows install
 
As above, use Produkey to retrieve the key.

A word of caution, some OEM installations, such as Hp, won't let you use the key from a OEM /retail disk.

My advice is if it's not a problem with the HDD itself, then clone the disk using Macrium.

It is win 7 hp OEM aswell just checked the disk case. Was hoping for a simple uninstall and then be able to use on another Pcs HDD. Damn. Thankyou Huddy and ED209

OEM versions are tied to the motherboard on the PC\laptop so it cannot be moved to another PC.

Only retail versions of the OS can be moved.
 
I could use the disk to install on the new system and then buy another win7 OEM key and then upgrade to Win 10 right? That'll be cheaper surely?

Did it come with the PC? If it did it is most likely an OEM license.

Or did you buy it separately. If you bought it separately, what does it say on the receipt? (If bought from online you can usually look it up.)

Least I have a choice tho which, is still decent may be worth digging into the pocket like you said.
