hey guys, just ran my pc build today and it ran fine up to now, for some reason when i switch it on it beeps to post and then beeps a few times and an error comes up on the screen saying cpu fan error!, i have a h100i installed and it doesnt run off the cpu fan header. so i hit f8 and went through windows installation and it said it may restart a few times and i thought nothing of it. it restarted and came up with the same error so i tried to continue the install and on my drive it says operating system not found. the only thing it will successfully install on is called uefi which is the third option and it starts the installation process all over again but with a 350mb partition where the other windows was. I plugged my chassis fan into the cpu fan header and the error doesnt come up anymore for some reason but im wondering if i re-install windows again will it mess anything up, having the 350mb partition on there or will it continue off that partition i just dont know.

also why does the error come up in the first place, pump and fans are running. will having a chassis fan in the cpu slot do anything etc. im just confused, but im happy the pc is finally running after a total noob moment earlier.

installed dvd drive and it would turn on anymore i thought wtf and nearly died because i thought id killed my mobo and that it would be ages to repair and replace. turned out the front panel header had removed itself from the pins so i had to take the front of the case off to re-install it again. it then turned on woooo!

now for some reason my pc will not recognise the hyper x drive, wtf is going on... lol

it now comes up with "a media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB or Hard disk driver. if you have a CD,DVD or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now."

what does this mean? do i have to get a driver for the kingston hyper x 3k. For this to run correctly. its only just started doing this :(.

All boards will through that error up if no fan is plugged into the cpu header as a safety feature.

You need to go into your bios and turn off the cpu header reporting which will bypass the error your getting, other then that it would be put a casefan onto your cpu header to stop it reporting.
