My g/f said she would buy me a PC for about £400. Now i know that im not going to get a great one for that amount of money so i suggested that she just give me the money and i'll buy some parts. What im after is a processor, Mobo, Memmory and a Gfx card and anything. A Psu would be a bonus too. Believe me i say anything would be a improvement on what i have at the moment.

That looks ok. i can use my current case, monitor and keyboard/mouse. So its just the so called "workings" im after.

Why not a quad and 2gig instead?
Why So? The advantages in terms of a price/performace of 4GB ram is amazing. I definitely wouldn't bother with 2GB when you can bang 4 in for next to nothing. Also why go quad? Are there any advantages in this case?
