Hi all,
I've just created a basket a mate who has set aside £1000 for the purpose of a new pc.
here is what I ave put together. When I speak to him next I shall see if I can get him to stretch a bit so to afford an SSD as well, such as the Corsair force series 3 120GB. (I'm 90% sure I could get him to part with the extra £144 for this)
Just posting to see if anyone can help squeeze maximum value from this.
One thing to note, he is adamant that he has the best GFX card for Battlefield 3, so I chose this one because I've heard BF3 will require a lot of VRAM.

Just a heads up but TWO more posts and if you order it for him you save the £15 in shipping costs :) this would allow you to change the CPU to retail pack for more warranty.

Why have you ordered the akasa cooler when you purchased the corsair pack with water cooler? This frees up another £40

looks like 6 to me, but other than that your right

(he has 94 posts on my screen right now)

WTF!!! How did I see an 8 instead of 4? Ah well damn you and your math skills reaper ;)

Edit-maybe I looked at his join date and kinda squinted to merge his post count and join date to make his mythical number

Thanks for all the input guys. Sorry for the lack of activity I didn't come on last night, went to the pub
Took some of it onboard, (except the make 8 quick posts :P)

I realised after I made the post that I'd stupidly left the venom in the basket. lol.
Also went for 8gb of corsair vengeance LP instead, (4GB really isn't enough)
Also managed to squeeze an SSD in there too, got 120GB corsair Force3.

Maybe swap the corsair for the crucial M4, prices just got hammered down quite a bit

*edit* well if the budget was tight, otherwise for the extra £10 for the corsair id stick with that myself

i'd go for the crucial myself. faster in the real world and less problems.
