He guys im wanting to build my own gaming pc to play dayz on arma2/3 and standalone when its finished. I was hoping u guys could spec me the cheapest machine capable. I was thinking about 500 if its possible and im gonna use the tv for now to play on
cheers for looking

I would wait till its actually out of Alpha before even thinking of what specs you want. My GTX 780 stuggles sometimes with DayZ

With careful adjustments to the graphics, you can make it very smooth. I would honestly wait as the game is still in heavy development.

Do you have a PC at the moment?

thats because setting graphics options to low will switch from using your gpu to using your cpu(atleast in arma 2+3), its weird and fiddly but you can get it smoothish with work, tho youll still suffer fps drops in places its just how dayz/arma is

Everyone i know that has AMD graphics cards for DayZ/ARMA have significantly less FPS than NVIDIA users so I'd definitely recommend getting an NVIDIA graphics card.

It'd be worthwhile if you could extend that budget to £600. Then instead of AMD you can go with an Intel build and better GPU.

Yeah, will probably need a lot of tweaking. It was preset to Ultra settings but turning them down was still too laggy for me to play when entering towns.

Thanks for the quick replies. I can up the budget to 600 just wanted to see if it was really probable for 500 to save some money. I not to worried about standalone as I can always upgrade later if the system really needs it

Hey guys Had a little chat with the misses and she has agreed to let me spend a bit more (she is the boss). I was wondering how u put a basket on the thread as I've seen a few other builds I like the look off and wanted u guys to take a look at what I've put together.
Thanks for the help
