A friend of mine wants Diablo 3, he just wants to play this only

Can he get a cheap PC for 250 pound just for Diablo 3? Maybe medium settings running it with a fair FPS

He has Windows 64/Keyboard+Mouse/1080p 22" monitor

The recommended specs look like a phone could run it, anyone think it can be done for 250?

If so can you list the things he will need?

Thank you, will be back tomorrow

I don't know much about FM2/Trinity CPUs but if you're looking at a £250 gaming PC you will have to go with an AMD APU.

This is the best I could come up with:

YOUR BASKET
1 x AMD A8-5600K Black Edition 3.60GHz (Socket FM2) APU Trinity Quad Core Processor (AD560KWOHJBOX) £79.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB SATA GB/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1500DL003) £55.99
1 x MSI A55M-E33 AMD A55 Chipset (Socket FM2) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £38.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 430W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020046) £36.98
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/4GX) £23.99
1 x OcUK Flamingo FM-12A Midi Tower Case - Black/Blue £21.98
Total : £272.03 (includes shipping : £11.75).

If you done a bit of shopping you could knock off a few bob.

To be fair its not a bad PSU, I built a system for a friend using that case/PSU and a FM2 mobo (OCUK barebones deal) the one that came in mine was a CIT unit which is a good brand.

that psu might be junk, but pulling a max 150w from it, i'd say it'll be fine

More than likely will be fine but i'd still be iffy!

Maybe go with this and get a 2nd hand GTX460 or something? think they can be had for £50 these days!

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i3-3220 3.30GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £99.95
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TD120BW) £77.99
1 x MSI Z77A-G43 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £69.98
1 x OCZ CoreXtreme 500w '80 Plus' Power Supply £32.99
1 x Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1333C9) £29.99
1 x Xigmatek Asgard II Midi Tower Case - Black/Silver £26.99
Total : £337.88 (includes shipping : FREE).

I think your going to be pretty stuck on a budget of £250.. I reckon something like this would be more than capable, and should your friend want to, he can upgrade at a later date etc. Will also be able to play other games.

I have a GTX460 in my main rig still, and still running everything I throw at it comfortably.

You'd be wasting £250. Come back when you have £500.

Agreed, always makes me laugh when people ask for PC gaming builds for that kind of money. You will need an upgrade in less than 6 months.

Like another poster said though, adding a used and relatively cheap GPU like the GTX 460 will work wonders.

Like others have said your friend would be better waiting and paying more, however if he can't and he just wants to play Diablo III then this build plus a good graphics card from the MM or B-grade section would work a treat.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TD120BW) £77.99
1 x "Primo 510a" AMD 760G DDR3 Ready Barebones (Socket AM3+) £69.98
1 x AMD Athlon II X3 Tri Core 450 3.20GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail £49.99
1 x Kingston Blu 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9AD3B1K2/4G) £19.99
Total : £236.56 (includes shipping : £15.50).

EDIT: I forgot a DVD drive lol, NB he could get Win 7 and D3 on a 64GB SSD and have a bit of room left if you want to save £ that way.

Thank you for the replies

I will tell him to leave it till he has more money

Can you guys show me a full build with a graphics card too with say 350/400?

Or maybe a GPU that will go with the build indie posted
