PC for gaming and photo/video editing

Hi all, first post so bear with

I know next to nothing on the spec side of things. I am looking at building a unit for highish end gaming and photo/video editing.

Am I right in think SSD is perfect for photo/video editing?

And also a list of the other parts needed.

Are you quite happy to save money now and upgrade in the future if needed?
Without a specific budget its hard to do the best value for money spec.

I was going for cheap and cheerful but yes IPS monitors do have better IQ
