I'm looking to build a PC for:
- motion graphic editing
- photoshop work
- sound editing (adobe audition)
Will be using Windows 7 64 bit and CS5.5 of adobe products.
Budget is £600+VAT
I already have an 850w modular power supply and existing SATA2 hard disks
so far I have been drawn to:
- Asus P8Z68-V PRO Z68 Socket 1155 8 Channel HD Audio ATX Motherboard
- Intel Core i7 2600k 3.4GHz Socket 1155 8MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor
- Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz CL9 1.5V Non-ECC Unbuffered
- Corsair 120GB Force 3 SSD 2.5" SATA-III 6Gb/s Read = 550MB/s, Write = 510MB/s
in a
- Antec Dark Fleet DF-85 Case
I also require a card reader
- Internal All in 1 5.25 Inch card reader
I'd probably want to overclock to about 4GHz. Would this be possible with the stock cooler, or should I invest in an arctic freezer 7 or 13?
The graphics editing involves projects with many layers and numerous plugins, but there is not too much of a requirement for 3D - will the on-board graphics be sufficient, or should I purchase a graphics card? Another caveat is I am currently using 2 x HPL1908w monitors which are VGA and there is no budget to replace these for another 6-12 months.
Any suggestions or improvements.
