Hi i hoping you can give me a hand building a pc for my dad, he doesnt want to spend a lot £300-£350 max

he uses it for work and does like playing games, and he prob wont want to upgrade for a while cos he's tight!

my questions are, does this spec look ok (i was thinking we could get him a graphics card for his bday in a month or so)

and will the duel core chip work with the mobo in that case?

any help or sugestions will be appreciated

That is fine mate.

However you may want to add a little extra for a bigger hard drive, will come in handy when you have loads of games. Would suggest 2Gb for gaming nowadays but that will add extra 70 quid at least.

What sort of games is he playing?? Get him a 7900GS or 1950pro for bday then he has a really nice gaming machine there.

nope that motherboard will not take a core2duo chip.

not a core2duo the athlon 64 x2 dual core i listed!!

i think the 80gb should be big enough at the mo, hes only got a 20gb right now lol

ive got 2 120's he can have when i upgrade

he hasnt been able to play games for a year or so now, so i want to get him a few to start him off, nothing too intense though

your system looks good

i recommend neverwinter nights, might have to play it on low-ish with a x1600 but its a crackin game imo
