Hi all.

Been asked by a friend to build a pc for video editing and rendering, and was just looking for an opinion on this.

Budget is £500, and this is what I've come up with so far.

It's my belief that the IGP on the Sandy Bridge GPU's should be up to the task, but if not feel free to correct me.

Do you have a graphics card? or are you wanting to use the CPU's built in HD3000 graphics with a motherboard?

FYI the IGP only works with certain software:

Intel Quick Sync

There may be others but if the program used for video rendering can't use the IGP your friend will get no extra benefit from it and just have to rely on the processor.

Heh, might be a good start! Just assumed that it would be standard on the Z68 boards

I think I have a spare nvidia quadro fx580 lying around somewhere that I could give him, so that may be a non issue.
