For about a month now, my pc keeps forgetting to read local disk D, like the icon isnt there until I got into My Computer -- Manage -- and rescan for more drives and then it will pick it up but when I reboot the PC its gone again, also since this started happening its taking like 15 mins to load windows from a reboot, like it stands on bios screen for like 5 mins then goes to loading operating system for 5 mins and then load windows takes another 5 mins. Not sure if its related but seems to be as both things started happening at the same time.

Any ideas?

could possibly be psu problem. how old is it? if psu is failing it might be having trouble running everything, especially on boot up when it is being heavily used.

I would be highly doubtful of that its a XFX 750W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Silver' Power Supply I have in here, the system is around 12 months old

Open up a command prompt (in elevated mode in Vista/7/8) and type diskpart.

When it loads enter the command "automount enable" without the quotes.

Once the command has completed type exit to quit diskpart and then close the command prompt.

Restart your PC and see how it is.
