PC Format time - Save my Steam games?

Which folders do I need to backup before formatting my PC to make sure I have minimal downloads to reinstall my games post-format?

Is it just the steamapps folder?

Its the only one i backup.

You may as well just save the entire steam folder. Once you are up and running again, just run steam.exe from the folder and you're good to go.

Yep, this works. I've done this multiple times, quickest and easiest option, tbh

I just backup the steamapps folder and never had any problems or anything.
