Hi All,

My PC started acting up a few back as it started freezing straight after waking up from sleep. I would see the background screen and mouse/keyboard would be frozen. This also happened when I locked my PC and then came back to login. It would either show windows background screen or password input, but computer was frozen.

After updating bios to the latest and trying a few other solutions - nothing worked. So I reinstalled windows on a brand new nvme/ssd. Same issues.

I've taken all hdd out except for two nvmes.
Taken 2 ram modulse out (out of 4) and still same issues.
I've turned off fast boot in windows.

The only new item I purchased was a new LG 27GN850 monitor, my issues straight started after that. I've since unplugged the monitor and the issues persist.

I'm now at a loss on what is happening here.

Before I purchase a brand new PC (I'm WFH so need something stable), what else can I do to pinpoint the problem?

Ryzen 3900x
64GB Ram
1070 GFx card
Windows pro 64bit

When it wakes up from sleep and when it is locked and I try and log back in.
I've also noticed it freeze when in use a couple of times.

have a look in your event viewer and look to see if there are any errors or warnings around wake from sleep. When you updated your BIOS did you load the defaults? This is an important step after updating to make sure all settings have a value.

I'm only seeing this in the logs which is due to me doing a hard reset/shutdown.

The previous system shutdown at 07:44:10 on ‎24/‎11/‎2021 was unexpected.

Also, this but I think it's related to the above.
The previous session did not finalize the tracking file on device \Device\HarddiskVolume3 (C:). The tracking file has been reset.

@shaf did you look into this.

@mickyflinn I've set power options to Ryzen in windows and removed all devices connected to the PC.

Yesterday I installed a new PSU from another computer and all went well with no freezes. This got my hopes up but this morning it froze again from sleep. :(

I've getting desperate now. Whats left now is the motherboard/CPU/Graphics card.

Run memtest check memory stable but after that I'm not sure.

I think i would get a cheap mother board b450 /b550 to try but one with bios flashback feature.
