pc freezing on boot

my bosses computer have had a bit of problem for a whilw with the fan speeding up and slowing down.

i had a look at it and went into the bios and the cpu temperature keeps changing from -117 to +90 degrees and so on it has a smart fan control that obviously speeds it up its thinking its getting to these temps when its not

now come today it loads of windows and just freezes and blue screen error saying kernal_data_inpage_error

and further down win32k.sys

could it be the processor that has went in it ?

could this be the problem though? as how am i meant to install a fix when it just freezes when windows loads?

Will it boot in safe mode? F8 on start up.

According to MS this can be a number of things. Pagefile problem, virus, drive controller issue or failing RAM.

As for the temperature thing that may be fixed by a BIOS update or just by turning off fan control in BIOS and using software to control the fan speed in OS.
