PC Freezing

Hi All

Had some weird problems recently.


I have:
Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R Motherboard
Core 2 Duo 2.13 GHz running standard speed with a Thermaltake Sonic Tower cooler
4GB of Geil DDR 800MHz Ram
ATI Radeon 1950 Pro graphics card
Maxtor 160GB SATA Hard Disk

I have been leaving my PC on overnight and in the morning i turn on the monitor and the PC has frozen completely, no error messages, BSODs or reboots, just frozen in time...the PC wasnt doing anything taxing when i go to bed

Also, recently, a friend and myself managed to overclock from 2.13 GHz to 2.69GHz...everything ran fine for about a week then one day the PC froze and i lost all the overclock settings and it went back to 2.13GHz

Now when i go and re enter the overclocked values into the BIOS it doesnt work, when i save the changes to the bios and reboot the machine turns on and off about 3 times, when it comes back up its still running at 2.13GHz

Any ideas??

I guess you've got enough volts to the ram?

something to check, i will write down the details when i get in from work, cant remember the figures off the top of my head

It seems to have been solved by a combination of reinstalling
Direct X 10, switching disks to SATA 1 mode and a new PSU.
