hey everyone

haven't played much PC games just FPS online games i.e Combat Arms and Tomb Rader.

im making my system see sig should be done next week just finishing case mods.

i want to test the the system, before and after i overclocked it, i read that best ways is to do both synthetic/Games stress and benchmarks.

so for synthetic i will be suing Prime 95/AIDA64/ ETC

But for games im not to sure, do i need to buy the games or can you download the games for free which have bench marks inbuilt. what would be the best option.

for cpu testing use Intel Burn Test (IBT) as it really cranks up the heat on ivybridge chips. run it on very high (uses more ram) and keep a very close eye on the temps!!!

when building my system I was getting prime stable and getting not bad temps but when using IBT the temps were about 10*C higher!!!! !!!

which then led me to de-lidding and using liquid metal pro :D

so yeah, I recommend using IBT as it will really rape the CPU so if it stays cool enough under this stress then every day stuff will be no sweat! ;)

FurMark is also good for the GPU, pretty simple and again... rapes the GPUs!!!if you have an unstable clock on the gpu this will show it very quickly (usually at least) as the artifacts will show up almost instantly (or just flat out crash :p )
