So thought I'd ask here, see my spec in signature, sometimes in evening I'd rather be downstairs on sofa in front of my fire with disarrono playing on my PC and I can't as it's upstairs in atic in my man cave.

I have tried steam link and it was impossible it couldn't even stream lego games this was on wired and wireless.

Is there any other means? I know of nvidia shield but I can't work out if would work better than steam link.

Unfortunately having a mini itx system isn't possible nor is buying a gaming laptop for the odd evening

I spent good couple days just didn't work with out being a judder mess, I can only assume was cause I had to go through power line adapters,

My only other theory was hdd games were running off were old and slow they don't have any errors on or anything though

Does the Steam Link let you do any speed tests between the device itself and the PC? It does seem like the powerline adapters will be the reason for your issues, they're fine for general internet use but streaming games is a bit more sensitive to latency and bandwidth fluctuations.
When I had the steam link it was always in green for signal strength. Only issued I had was wouldn't always see it until I unplugged power line adapter and plugged it back in.

Use your wireless, that's what I use downstairs and it's pretty solid.
I tried I even went and spent £100 on a new router whilst it improved reception in my house it barely reaches atic,
