PC gamers > Console gamers...

Only problem is story is ********. Nobody remember Shadowrun? Funily enough a game by microsoft that let PC gamers play against 360 gamers, and due to console gamers getting aim assist it worked fairly well.

The reason it didnt take off though is more to the amount of games Microsoft Game Studios has released on the PC over the past 3 years, not one major title, all multiplatform games going 360 only, ports being cancelled and PC game studios closing. Theres a story there somewhere

Hmm, it wasn't just aim assist for console owners but nerfing of the control system for PC Gamers which kind of supports the original article.

From Wiki :

"Because of the lack of 'pixel-accuracy' with the Xbox 360 analog thumbstick, the designers have included an aim-assisting technology, which basically interpolates the player's movement and causes the reticle to stay over an enemy player like a weak magnet. In addition, FASA has implemented a feature which causes the cross-hair to expand during quick movements, thus lowering the player's accuracy, making it impossible to quickly turn and maintain accuracy, reducing the potential advantage of playing with a mouse.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadowrun_(2007_video_game)#cite_note-6http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadowrun_(2007_video_game)#cite_note-7 PC players, who have a more sensitive control scheme, are able to turn significantly faster than their controller-using counterparts and would have gained an unfair advantage."

That is a seperate matter!

:D

brb, comparing a £1000 gaming PC to a £200 console.

Which £200 pound console and which £1000 PC? Are we including the display in this as well? Also, with things like the xbox you have to pay for all the cabling, controllers and even wifi.

Right now, you could put together a PC for £200 that would provide greater performance than a console for the same amount of money.

Surely the next consoles to come out must allow the use of keyboard and mouse ? They are shooting themselves in the foot if they dont. Not to mention its pretty unfair to compare pc with the current gen consoles when they have now been on the market for the better part of 5 years. Not trolling as i am an avid pc gamer but each have their pros and cons ^^

But it would spoil the enjoyment for most people if you could use kb+mouse in game (can can currently use a kb and mouse on the ps3 for internet browsing etc) as those with pads sitting on thier soffa would be raped y the bloke with a m+kb.

and don't forget the hundreds of things a PC can do and a console cannot.

It's besides the point really. If you just want to play games there's nothing wrong with a console.

Yes you're correct Tefal it'd be just as expensive if you had to buy the TV but most people would already have something suitable.

£200 for a PC? The OS alone will cost you at least £60-£70 of that budget. £1000 might be a steep estimate but be realistic.

At the end of the day it's just not as easy to use a controller. That doesn't mean that you're suddenly worse because of it. I know I wouldn't want to play with PC gamers in a 3rd or 1st person shooter on the Xbox. At the same time though surely thrashing people with a disadvantage wouldn't be fun on PC either?
