Hi everyone

I am trying to reach out to some 'dad gamers' out there. I want to find some good PC games to play with my 5year old.
As a gamer myself I would like to share my hobby with my kid. Now before everyone lashes out at me about screen time ADHD bla bla. As a parent I will manage my kid as how i see correct so lets not get feisty (referring to a thread i spotted about games for 3 year olds).

So, my kid isnt actually able to play games yet but he loves watching them... I recently took him through star wars fallen order and he loved watching it. I tried that avengers game but it was too slow paced for him and he lost interest...
Of course there is no chance I am going to let him watch super gory stuff like Doom and I dont want to play Multiplayer games while he is around as they are unpredictable in terms of swearing or me swearing at people :p

So ya, any suggestions please shoot! Side note, to get him used to that top down approach, not sure of the technical terms but the game style of star craft and dota is a bit much... he is getting used to it when he sees me play anno 1800 though but the moving of screens and size of world is a bit too much.

If there is already a post on this topic let me know, i did try search game for 5 year olds and games for kids.

I have rocket league but have never tried it with him, thats a good shout!
I have both Ori's but not tried it with him.... think stardew valley he will get bored of, he likes a good ol bad guy!

Wow! Thanks for all the responses! I noobed up and didn’t watch my own thread so only got an alert when I was quoted!

definitely think I have enough now to get him going.

like many, he plays minecraft but watches ppl play it on ytk and he keeps asking me to download mods like mario smash world or something similar. Where/how do you do this? Even as a gamer my whole life I’ve never clicked or understood a game like minecraft. Just seems perpetual

If only, I cant wait until he can handle these titles!

I got the Lego Star Wars games for my son when he was 5 and he still plays them at 8. Also try Lego Invincibles and Lego Pirates of the Caribbean.

When he gets a bit older and wants to try his first gun game, you can't go wrong with the Halo remastered. Only ever shoot at aliens.

Will give them a go!
