I subscribe to PC Zone and enjoy reading the mag, but I was kinda wondering what everyone else reads when it comes to PC Games?

Used to read PC gamer and did have a sub to it, however, by the time the sub run out i found that i really wasnt enjoying reading it as there was no new stuff to look forward to. I nab my bro-in-laws on the rare occasion that there is a game im interested in.

I mainly read CustomPC type mags now and some linux ones.

im suprised they still sell tbh, all the info or demos they have are so dated
the tinternet has made them redundant

havent bought a PC mag for many many yrs

If I'm being honest, I quite enjoy PC Zone. I tend to read it cover to cover, and like the way they review games. Obviously reviews are always subjective, but I usually end up agreeing with them on most things.

As an old-school gamer, it was nice recently to see Dom Diamond doing the back page, with his skill for toilet humor!!!! Bring back Games Master is what I say!

I'm with you, so many good websites out there! If I had to buy one I would get PCZone.

Answer me this though, why the hell do magazines like this date their issues so early? The current PC Zone, on sale for the last week or so (ie mid October) is the DECEMBER issue! Why do they do this? I gets on my bits!

It is not only PC Zone, a load of other magazines do it too. I can almost understand bringing the November issue out now so that it will definately be available for the 1st, but the Decemeber issue is taking the mick.

...rant over...

PCZone I don't buy mags often but this one always catches my eye and I read cover to cover.

Couldn't agree more on this one. It is probably something to do with the publishing of the mag, and it reaching the widest audience. However, a December issue in Oct is a little over the top!

I too used to read PC Gamer a lot, but now I don't read any of them. I tend to find myself shaking my head at some of the opinions in those magazines at times, and I don't need someone to tell me how good they think a game is when I can just download a demo and see for myself.

I tend to read reviews online, especially hardware reviews, but that's about it. It's free so why not.

dominic diamond is a truly funny fella, even that other show on tv (after gamesmaster) was watchable just because he hosted it ...
i specifically remember the dance challenges with various voluptuous women, genius !!!

pc gamer for me, i subscribe and read it cover to cover. i trust their reviews and 99% of the time i agree with them. i also like the way they discuss associated gaming isses as well as the reviews themselves, it gives a much wider understanding of the impact of gaming on society as a whole.

there are loads of good game review websites but i stare at a pc screen all day and most of the night, so a good mag gives me an excuse not to!

That's a little tricky when sitting on train, or in the loo. Even more so when you don't have a laptop or PSP thingy.

I guess magazines serve a purpose. I look at a lot of online reviews, when I have that option open to me. When I'm stuck on a tube between Baker Street and Latimer Road, I revert to the trusty PC Zone!

I listen to music on the train, I read reviews at home. :p

I don't read in the loo, I always found that to be odd. :o

i used to buy whatever had the best demos or software

think the internet took a lot of there customers i stopped buying them round about the time i got broadband about 5 years ago

as said before demos and reviews are just a click away

never used to read them anywhere but in the house so the not mobile argument makes no difference to me

I have a PC Gamer subscription and I'm quite happy with it. Although by the time I get to read them they're already a few months old since they don't get sent to my uni address.

I recently cancelled my subscription for PCZone as I'm reading them less and less. I'd consider renewing it if they included free posters of Suzi Wallace.... :D
