Hi, asking on behalf of my cousin, his dvd drive is busted and is looking to pick up some new games they must be CDROM, his graphics card is fairly recent (Radeon 9800Pro IIRC). Hes looking for some good games that come on CDROM's.

Thanks :)

KOTOR is on CD-ROM I recall, as are the Max Payne series.

Most games still have CD versions released I think.

Or, if there's another PC in the house with a DVD drive, you could share that across the network.

will that work though?

i think i tried that before and it came up with an error saying that windows cannot install from a remote device, something along those lines

Well as everyone failed to observe :p im asking on behalf of my cousin who lives in egypt, where apparently dvdroms are fairly expensive/difficult to obtain as they are not widely sold. On the other hand there are quite a few shops he can get PC Games from.

surely then most games would come on cd than dvd so how would we know what game would be dvd here and cd there..

What about a cheap import of a dvd drive, shouldnt be any import tax as the price would be below the requirements. Or buy second hand from somewhere?
