Even now I have a love for anything Amiga, Amstrad or Sega Mega Drive. And there are certain games that even today can be spoken about as greats... I'm looking at you Deuteros, Turrican, Pirates!

But what PC games do you think will last the test of time?

Here's my short list thus far

Baldurs Gate 3
Skyrim
Kingdom Come 2

Haven't found any hotties like that doing Metal Detecting  Most of them are blokes dressed in full millitary camo

On a serious note Skyrim is kinda cheating as arguably it already has/is but I get the inclusion.

I think Stardew Valley, it has an aesthetic that arguably stands up better than 3d graphics and is, well, it is what it is.

One that has stood the test of time… Total Annihilation.

I payed it almost 30 years ago with a dear friend who has since passed away. Now I play multiplayer against my 12 year of son and he loves it.

Sadface/happyface.

Just started replaying the most recent Wolfenstein games (Old Blood at the moment) after YT deciding to remind me of their existence and I’d forgotten just how much fun they were.

No Mans Sky comes to mind, but given it's very actively worked on and the updates are all free it's pretty much a given so far.

I feel that Metaphor: ReFantazio will, slightly more niche but Atlus games tend to remain popular even many years after release and it follows a similar formula to the Persona series. For example: Persona 3 Reload did very well as a remaster of a 20 year old game, as did P4G which was an updated PSP port of a now 18 year old game.

Lots of indie games will as the more popular ones often have active long term support and the sorts of visuals which don't really date poorly, Terraria, Stardew etc.

Came here to say the same. I've stopped playing many games with amazing graphics or great storylines so that I can carry on with Stardew Valley.

The graphics and simple yet rewarding gameplay are timeless for me.

Doom. The original.

Yeh but that's not really modern, 1993?

Doom 3 was very good, but seems a lot of people prefer the platform jumping antics of eternal!

Although I can't stand it, Minecraft is going to go on for many years and will most likely last till I'm bloody old!

Diablo 3 (as long as the servers still work and/or proper local installs work)
X4: Foundations. A few years old already, still getting DLC and just a massive sandbox.
Half Life 2

Depends how far back you want to go.

F.e.a.r is old but stands up well.

More modern titles:
Balatro
Dwarf fortress
Factorio
Minecraft

I'd also argue that with the controls it has you're not going to get younger generations playing it once they've played a mouse and keyboard game
