Having lived in Scotland for many years now and noted what some people outside of the UK refer to as "Scottish voices" I think a lot of people get confused between "gruff", which is a description of a voice, and "Scottish", which is a description of an accent. Most gruff English accents used by Dwarves are considered Scottish by a lot of people outside the country.

Exactly, that is why every english impersonation of a welshman sounds like Ruth Madoc from "Hi De Hi", which is highly inaccurate, as we all sound like His Royal Highness Richard Burton (God bless his soul).

no ones mentioned the gabriel knight series yet? if you like old adventure games they are worth a look, great horror/suspense stories blending real history with fiction. get all 3 at gog.com
