Before you read on, I'm not expecting anything to change, but I thought it was worth a shot at something that really annoys me.

So I've emailed Geoff Keighley & Gabe, asking them if they could lean on developers / the industry to create a standard for PC game Accessibility (even if its just like steam deck verified)

What I requested here was very simple standard
  • Every keybind should be present in the Game Menu & be able to be be rebound
    • the amount of games that do not do this is pretty unreal...
the reason for this, as example is I use my mouse for all my key presses (except wasd) they pretend to be F1-F12
now some games hard bind buttons to F keys or other strange keys, robocop for example F4 reloads your last checkpoint.

I've emailed the makers of Robocop & they are looking into this issue & possibly going to make it to be rebound.

anyway wanted to share this, to see if it goes anywhere & if anyone in the industry on this forum can aid in any way it pretty cool if this could become a reality

I am a huge advocate for this though I don't work in anything consumer. I hope this industry can also move to stop treating accessibility as a feature, and think about it from the early stages. Some companies do seem really good at this though with a myriad of tweaks. Some people think that it stops at things like web accessibility standards.
I cannot see how it would be a bad thing making games more accessible, and it needn't be at the detriment of anything else either.

indeed, adding all the buttons is game menu to be rebound is a good start

I am severely sight impaired and my biggest gripe is icons, text and scaling.
Whilst I get that in some games it is not possible, in others, it is an afterthought and means I cant play.
When Cyberpunk was released I contacted CDPR over the use of flashing lights on the BD. There so no warning at the start of the game and I was not the only one to do so. That for me was a massive oversight. However, they fixed it very quickly.
Things are getting better but as you have highlighted, more could be done.
