Probably a rare occurrence on this forum been a computer based forum,But has anyone gone from PC gaming back to console gaming?

What was your experience?

I've been thinking of selling my gaming pc in sig and just getting use to a 360 i aleaedy have but never use.
Sick of constantly having problems with Pcs,then when buying games your unable to sell them again due to been tied to steam or something similar.
Just miss the old days of putting in the disk, and within a couple of mins your off and playing.

Had a go on Red faction:Armageddon on the 360 earlier,And even though the graphics were quite dated the game was quite enjoyable,I feel that todays pc games are all about the graphics and not so much Storyline/gameplay.

Lots of people on here have, myself included. I don't think I have loaded a game on my PC since I bought the 360 within a month or two of it being released and that must be 4 or 5 years ago now.

Intresting,But i wonder if anyone has recently. :)

I see from your sig you have a 360 and PS3,Which console do you find better?

I remember when i first got my PS2 and Vicy City,So much fun!

Well, allow me to give you a story from the other side. Have a gaming PC and bought Xbox and PS3 over the last 2 years. Both Consoles sit and gather dust while PC is by far the most played. Why? Well, ***** console restrictions on modding games, flexibility with doing different things with PCs, the jaggy-jag-fest that consoles games are, the shallow nature of online console multiplayer. The list goes on and on and on.....

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, there are some cracking games on console but at the end of the day, just did not hold my attention.

I don't get why you think consoles are ***** for restricting the modding of games and their lack of flexibility to do other things. They have never been marketed as being able to do this yet you still decided to buy BOTH!

If you think they are jaggy-jag fests then I suggest you get:

a) a new TV
b) glasses

Ive gone to PC gaming. Been on consoles properly since 07 having dabbled with old battlefields on PC.

Much better experience with FPS games and others.
Multiplayer side with friends ive yet to figure out. XBOX leads on that but that is probably because i dont know anyone with a PC. Just wish they had a PC.

Don't get a PS3 then, half the time you put a game in you have to install it to the hard drive, then wait ages for a game update. I've sometimes had to wait 30 mins from putting the disc in to actually playing the game.

There are a couple that I've had to do this with, GT5 for instance, but honestly I don't think it has been that much of a problem. I remember MGS4 required installations before the start of each chapter, I made a cup of tea and the first one was finished before it had even brewed. It's a minor inconvenience at the worst in my opinion.

I had a decent pc but flogged it as I much prefer console gaming.
Sure the current consoles are a bit dated now but any new console is dated within 6 months of release anyway. Plus you only need to buy a console once and don't have to keep updating it.
And I much prefer being able to sit back and chill whilst playing, rather than having to sit at a desk staring at a monitor.

I have both 360 and PS3, I install for both. You have to with most games on PS3 as you mentioned, you don't for 360 but unless you want your 360 to sound like an F16 fighter jet for the majority of your gaming session it's better to install it I feel.

Back on topic I was a hardcore PC gamer for years, played FPS games religiously and made a fairly good dent on the CS scene and to a smaller degree the PK scene. As the scenes started to die down a little though and I got older I found that most of my friends were on consoles, plus I couldn't justify the money for upgrading my system every few months so consoles just seemed like the logical way to go and I don't regret my decision. I still love PC gaming but as of right now it makes more sense for me to be on consoles with my mates I just enjoy it more.

I'm not saying it's necessarily happening in this thread but I see a lot of people trying to make into a competition between pc, ps3 and 360. I don't really know why, I love them all =)

Depends on the type of gaming you do. If all your friends play on the 360/PS3 and you enjoy playing with your friends, you may find the experience better than PC Gaming. If you like to geek out on MMORPGs and have to play with maxed settings with the best control, then console gaming doesn't compare to pc gaming.

I recently sold my gaming pc and bought a 360 and this suits me perfectly as I have a lot of friends on 360 and only game casually. I just pick up the controller and put the game in and off I go for 30 minutes.

Went from a desktop, eventually to a gaming laptop, then eventually a 360.

As it stands, I won't be looking back anytime soon, apart from a LAN or two I attend each year.

The ease of just putting in a disk, sitting back on my sofa chilled out and knowing full well that the game is going to look pretty no matter what, not having to arse about with settings for this, that, and the other, is too much for me to pass up on.

Bored of a game? Trade it in or sell it and get some dosh back, job done!

Quite honestly, I reccomend it mate, and for the price of a console 150~ it's well worth it, if it's not for you, sell it! :)

I have at the moment got a PS3 and a laptop which, while it runs older games ok, I wouldn't really class it as a gaming machine.

I do enjoy being able to just sit down and chill out on the sofa with a game, but in all honesty, I do miss having a decent gaming PC, and as soon as I can afford it, I'll be getting one built.

They both have their advantages and disadvantages, but I think I would definitely say that the PC offers a more involving and flexible gaming experience :)

the last game i built a pc for was battlefield 2 however many years back that came out.

i bought a 360 just after launch and haven't even looked at a pc game since. well except for a facebook texas hold'em game that i also play on my android phone.

much less hassle and i can sell or trade the games when i've finished them or get bored of them. i do stream films over the network to my 360 quite a lot as well.

it took a short while to get used to playing FPS games with a controller, but its second nature these days.

I even bought BF3 for 360!
