If they go that way wouldn't they just be a pc in a box?Cronox said:I defiantly agree with this. The last 2 gens have been moving heavily in this direction with features like downloadable content/patches, online play, video/audio playback, IM/online chat/friends lists and hard drives. The one real advantages PC gaming still has are the keyboard and mouse, and I would be surprised if future consoles don't add decent support for this.

But as said above PC's and consoles will eventually be "merged", and I don't mean just the mouse/keyboard side of thing. I wouldn't use a console soley because the games support a mouse and keyboard. I don't think this'll be properly done for a long long time, to the satisfaction of the majority of PC gamers anyway.
Also no, game developers wont stop making games for the PC. Where ever theres money to be gained they'll still keep them coming.

There was a time when i thought the Amiga would never die and the PC was no threat, I also thought there would always be Sega console. But times change and now the biggest name in the PC world also makes a rather good console.
Take nothing for ganted!
