PC Gaming is not dieing right?

I just had a massive debate with my friend about why PC gaming is not dieing but he just seems so adamant that it is because of this stupid video (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/vid...re/2911-PC-Gaming-Is-Dead-Long-Live-PC-Gaming).

I said that 'all' FPS is superior with with M+K and he just disagreed with no reason. It's really annoying me because I know that PC gaming is actually on the increase because of Digital downloads and the increase in PC exclusives and just the graphics superiority.

I enjoy playing my Xbox but I still think the PC is better and it definitely is not 'dieing' from all of the stats I've seen lately.

Has the OCUK community got any opinions or arguments towards this argument and the ridiculous video? :rolleyes:
 
Maybe he should have used the search but people commenting about people making threads about the same thing is just as bad as making them. Your bumping up the thread and its getting in the way of other thread. If you dont have any useful info for the thread just ignore it and it will just go to the bottom. Is see it time after unexplored moaning luv still bumping it up

Almost as bad as commenting about people commenting on threads. But that's only almost as bad as commenting about people commenting about people commenting on threads. Wait what?

The video has some points that make sense, and some that don't. In the end though, PC gaming is as strong as it's ever been imo.
 
The guy in that video is everything he complains about, all the stuff he's coming out with is pretty much crap designed as an argument as to why PC gaming is rubbish. He's the console equivalent of the PC defenders he's complaining about, and I can't take anything he's saying seriously.
 
I like new threads about the state of play on the PC, as it is changing all the time.

The fact of the matter is, most PC only developers are becoming console first PC last instead of the other way around.

Dragon Age 1 for example, was obviously much better designed for the PC, whereas 2 simply wasn't, BUT it still made it onto the PC for one simple reason, lots of people still have PCs therefore they still make money, and that's all they care about obviously(looking at EA and FIFA then DA 2 :( )

The consoles are holding back the PC obviously, and we won't see our cards used to the max until the next generation of consoles, the console platform is the platform of choice for develment.

As long as there are people with PCs the PC market will never die, but it is certainly not as cutting edge as before.

This pretty much sums it up and yes I know this type of thread has popped up like 1million times but I wanted more opinions on the video than the actual subject.

Im not using OCUK as my own personal army you're all anons to me I just like having a less bias conversation thats all. Doesn't help that all of my friends are Xbox fan boys :o
 
His argument: "PC gaming is dead because PCs are dying out"

You can't quite get much more mental than that without resorting to fecal smearing.
