I'm sure these threads pop up every now and then.

Does anybody else suffer with bouts of pc gaming nostalgia, is pc gaming what it used to be or have I changed you ask yourself.

I remember fond memories of playing Half Life 2, Portal, L4D, Battlefield 2. Bioshock (when it first came out it blew me away)

Memories of people you used to link up with who you haven't spoken to in ages, they had your back as a medic in BF2 though :p it was just all a bit more simple back then?

I just struggle to get motivated nowadays and always remember the 'good old times' with pc gaming anybody else the same?

I think we need a massive A+ pc title again?

I'm not sure, it's 1.30am and my mind is racing maybe I should just try to sleep :p

Wow mechwarrior and falcon 4.0 some great memories being shared here.

For us older generation it's the fun we had playing together online in clans that we miss.

Maybe we are just past that now? Which is sad in itself.

For me the absoloute best glory times were BF2 with a full squad of friends on gulf or rushing the city of karkand. It almost makes me sad to think back but a happy sad for me times were a bit simpler back then and perhaps that's part the problem!

I don't think i'll ever get the same joy and amazement out of a game as I did when I built my first PC then loaded up HL2. I was just utterly blown away by it after coming from the PS2. I think it was also the fact it was working on a pile of parts I had put together.

Key point! I felt exactly the same, something special about building that rig then firing up the game you've spent so long looking forward to playing
