PC Gaming Xmas List costs a Bomb!

I have been putting together what PC Games I want for Christmas, and so far it's going to cost a bomb. Although to be fair I usually only buy 3-4 games throughout the rest of the year.

Do any retailers have do discounts for big orders (LOL)

Few questions:

I have never played any of the Diablo games before and don't really want to start from the first games, does it really matter or will I be lost without doing the first 2 games.

Does anybody know if Dead Space and Legendary have gamepad support could not seem to find out?

Also never played Fallout before starting with Fallout 3, will I be lost or is it mostly a new game?

Also Spore is it worth it for £30 or should I wait until it's cheaper

Does anybody here play Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock 3 on PC using Vista 64bit and if so does it run alright. Never played music, rhythm games before so thought it was worth a try?

Get Pro Evo over Fifa.

Damn its so awful on PC. PS3 & 360 users once again get priority and it is actually a half decent game to play, but PC is still last gen. :( :o

I did think about opting for Pro Evo, but I tried the demo today and found no resoultion options which is a must has I use an HDTV. I would hope in the full release the resoultion changes are available?
 
You should get an xbox and rent the majority of games you have on that list, it would probably be cheaper and they are mostly consoley type games.

Fallout 3 would probably be the only game I would buy from that list, and only if reviews and forums raved about it. The two games I'm waiting for come out after Christmas, Dawn of War 2 and Empire Total War.

Diablo 3 might be out by next Christmas.

Really? There should be a separate settings executable to change the quality and resolution. In Vista go to the game folder and right-click the fifa09 shortcut for settings. Its actually perfect for a hdtv since it only has 16:9 resolutions. The 16:10 resolutions shown in the drop down list use black bars at the top and bottom.
 
Why do you want so many games, surely you can save a lot by buying a few then waiting until the rest come down in price as im sure you wont be able to play all of them and complete them at once.

I think its a lot better getting a few games at christmas and looking forward to it than getting that many, but thats me.

theres seperate patches out which are EASY to find to unlock any res you can think of, it took about an hour for one to appear for the demo as some of us have had problems getting our screen res to appear(1280x1024).
Still a crap game though.

OP do you really need/want all those games?
Spores crap, wouldnt bother .....
All the C+C games? =/
Try the demos! Why not just get 2 or something and get the others with the saved money when they are cheaper?
