My computer has always had this random issue where when I go to boot it, it would like start then immediately turn off, then start again then turn off again, usually after like 5-6 times it would work, but i just installed a Phenom 2 and now it does it forever lol and wont start at all :( really getting on my nervs

My build is:
Coolermaster Stacker 830 Evolution Nvidia
AMD Phenom 2 X4 940 3ghz
Gainward GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual
Asus M3N-HT Deluxe HDMI nForce 780a SLi
Coolermaster Real Power 700w Modular Power Supply
GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Black Dragon EVO ONE
Asus Arctic Square CPU Cooler

(previous cpu was a phenom 1 the highest no 9950.)

btw its not that loud in real life phone mic is really sensitive.

clear the CMOS and try that. It might be stuck on some setting that it can no longer use such as a memory divider that now puts your memory out of useable range.

Took out CMOS battery thing, put back in now its similar just it doesnt attempt to start up as fast, it takes a good 10 seconds lol.

I tried another power supply and no luck, i tried this supply in my second pc and it works fine, i called up tech support at CCL Online (its local to me so i went to store to buy) and he said that my bios on the bored probably out of date and told me to put my phenom 1 in again and flash it, i cant find the bios files to download, was hopign to avoid puttin in phenom 1 cuse i have custom heat sink and i spent bout 2 hrs switching cpu lol, i'll die if i have to do it again :(

You can download the latest BIOS from Asus Support pages.

Is the PC stable in while you in the BIOS?

Don't bother installing another CPU, just try and set everything lower i.e. underclocked.. Say the CPU at 1.7GHz etc.. There should be a setting for "safe settings" if it lets you that is.

I have to put in ma old CPU the phenom 1 to get the pc working, worked solid with Phenom 1, just when i put 2 in , got the bios prior to decembers update, going to try the beta one though that supports new cpu's, hopefully that will work but its gunna be hell switching

CPUs are easier to switch over than ever before... My advice is to take the motherboard and video card out of the case and test fully before putting it back in the case. That way, any changes you may need to make are easier. Make sure the motherboard sits on a non-conductive surface.

Thing is with this i gotta like take of the asus cooler, then take of the frame work that holds the cooler to get to the cpu clip leaver, switch cpu, then put 2 screws in to hold the plate below the mothered bored screw on the frame but losely, then unscrew the 2 screws i put in cuse they're not in the frame they're on their own, then put them through frame hoping the plate doesnt fall down cuse if it does the frame holds screws to high to touch plate below mother bored, then the clip that holds the cooler down can be taken out n it's not like fassened in like you'd get on normal coolers.

Anyway i switched back with fingers bleeding lol and it works fine, i updated bios.

When I boot now (with my phenom still in) i get: CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded, if i press F1 it continues to load windows (could this be because usually i have 2 monitors plus the front usb ports, and i took the front usb ports out n only put 1 monitor in?)

Does it load windows or not? If not it sounds like a bad flash and you'll have o do it again. :(

It stopped now, i just went into windows and back out and now it doesnt say it, maybe it saved default values when i hit F1 (to continue)

Now im on 1901 Bios im going to put in the new Phenom and round 2 battle begins lol.

it works, hurray =D in so much pain LOL not buying massive fan like this one again ; ; thank you all for helping me!!!!!!!!!!!!1
