PC hanging after SP2 install (SPTD.SYS)

Hi, I just installed SP2 for XP and on the restart the computer is hanging. I rebooted and chose the safe mode option and it loaded a load of files and then said "press ESC to stop loading SPTD.SYS". When I didn't, it hung again. So next time I did and it loaded into Windows.

So what is this and what should I do? Delete the file? Will that solve it you reckon?

i'm pretty sure that file has something to with daemon tools. try and see if there is a newer version or try re-installing it.

Command: System32\Drivers\sptd.sys
Description: Driver used by the CD Rom emulation program, Daemon Tools Version 4. There have been some reports of problems with this driver.

Safe mode and uninstall/disable Daemon tools, then go look for an update to it.
