Im on the verge of throwing this computer out of the window. I cant make sense of it....

I turn on the computer and suddenly Vista decides it has limited or no connectivity. So I reboot the router and reboot PC. Still the same
I played about for a while and for some odd reason I decided to just re-install windows, that will fix it. Well it didnt.

Now whenever I try and make any changes in the LAN properties window, it just seems to hang and then eventually turn to Not Responding.

Im using on the onboard connection on an Asus P5N-E.

What the hell? It was working fine and I didnt change a damn thing, now all of a sudden I have no connectivity at all...

Any ideas?

Any other machines attached to the router? Are they getting dished out an IP?

You might want to see if there is an updated driver for your NIC.

Did you try a different ethernet cable? Fixed 3 systems on telewest in the last year by replacing the crappy (made in china) cat5 cable they supplied. One of the systems was very slow on start up until I unplugged the network cable & it was just luck I decided to try another cable.
