So last night whilst playing Dues X Mankind Divide PC hard crashed and restarted.
Immediately I say well it's the CPU overclock which is issue.
Event viewer says something about a storage driver just before hard crash. Don't believe it. The mobo is from 2012 drivers should be mature plus it's been in service for 5 years now, so still my thoughts are CPU overclock.
However the CPU has been tested for stability thoroughly about a year ago. It's played countless games since and never hard crashed. I've had the odd crash to desktop, which I fixed by a small vcore bump.
So it's had a lot of mileage of stability under its belt.
It's a 3570k @ 1.28v @ 4.4Ghz.
Only thing I did yesterday was upgrade Nvidia drivers.
Can Dues X Mankind Divided be the cause of the hard crash?
Can PC game even hard crash your computer? I would have thought only crash to desktop is possible.
Since I've bumped voltage another notch.
