PC hardware failure

Hi, I'm hoping somebody might be able to suggest the cause of a problem I'm having with my home rig. Bear with me as its longwinded

I have a TV Tuner PCI card in my machine, recently I noticed that WinTv crashed on launch so i updated it, it then worked again but my machine would BSOD regularly when it was running, especially when resizing the application window. My PC also started reporting problems with the graphics card (Geforce GT240) so I removed the tv card.

A couple of days later my hard drive had a complete failure (loudly clicking) so I replaced it with a known good drive and reinstalled windows, initially using the onboard graphics card. All went well until I came to install the GT240, the installation took ages and after its reboot, windows got stuck in a boot loop and no amount of repair or restoration could fix it (TV card not present this time). Chkdsk got stuck in the same place and leaving it running overnight had no success.

Ive now added formatted another (3rd) hard drive and installed windows on it with the tv card present (only onboard graphics) and im now getting bsod's every 5-10mins.

I need a reliable machine again so im looking to replace some components, any suggestions on what might be the culprit, Im thinking the motherboard may be damaged in some way.

The PC spec is as follow

i7 2600k 3.4ghz Socket 1515 Processor
Gigabyte GA-Z69A-D3H B3 Motherboard
Corsair TX 650W PSU
16GB Corsair 1600Mhz XMS3 Ram (2x8GB)
PNY GT240 Graphics Card.

Any help would be appreciated, the bulk of the pc with the exception of the grpahics card and tv tuner, is approximately 7 months old

Try running with the bare minimum, ram cpu HDD, just off the onboard, then itroduce to TV card and if you have not hit the wall the GPU.

Thanks Gav, I think i may have got to the bottom of it, I think a failing hard drive may have caused the initial problem but the recent problems seem to be caused by a gigabyte utility called on/off charge that i accidentally installed after the format (chose install all). I've uninstalled it and touch wood the graphics card and tv tuner card are functioning ok.

I do think its time I upgraded graphics card though.
