Hey Everyone,

I’ve recently got into using after effects, adobe premiere, resolve studio, on top of my usual photoshop and rendering takes quite a while so I’m wondering if it’s time to upgrade this system. I also have like £600s worth of ships in that imaginary universe called Star Citizen which might come out before i die so if i could run that it would be a plus!

Now i already have a Antec 900 case, 8gig ram and a PSU (can’t remember which but too scared to check) in which i hope i can keep possibly using for the time being.

I’m just trying to figure out what parts i would need to see the most major benefits.

Current System
AMD A8-3850
8.00GB DDR3 @ 666MHz
ASUSTeK Computer INC. F1A75-V PRO (FM1 )
2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
931GB Seagate ST31000528AS (SATA)
111GB SanDisk SDSSDHII120G (SSD)

I’m thinking about upgrading too
I7 6700K 4.0ghz
Motherboard wise i don’t have a clue
And buying 16-32gigs of ram
Evo 850 SSD

Would it be worth it?

For what you will be doing the i7 is a great CPU

Motherboard I'd reccomend the ASUS P170-A freature packed and a good price at £120 not as flashy as more expensive boards but has everything you need.

With skylake and that mobo you will need to invest some DDR4 Corsair Vengence 16GB sets are £68.99 right now and about £130 for 32GB

Cant go wrong with that SSD, the MOBO i mentioned has the option of M2 SSD's which are much faster then SATA SSD's.

One thing I would beg you to do though, find out what PSU you have and let us know. If its a good one then not a problem but if its one of many dodgy one I would absolutely invest in a solid PSU before anything else!

Thanks, That's Brilliant just realized i'll need a PSU and i'll also have to buy a cooler so can you recommend any?
