PC has become game unstable please help.

NoI thought it would be fine once everythign was installed at stock it would be fine to oc it again.

Please dont tell me you want me to reinstall it again at stock then run it at stock for a few days.

Oh dear! :p

In my mind I thought the best idea was to set the system back to stock, perform a fresh OS installation and get all the drivers and programs sorted. At this point a backup (Ghost/Acronis) would have been swell.

With the system running at full stock I expected you to run it in to see if the crashes to desktop went away, if they did that would remove the possibility of the GPU or other component actually being faulty.

Once you had burnt the system in at stock and were confident everything was hunky dory then that would have been a great time to slowly get the system tweaked and overclocked back to a better speed.

You can't just copy n paste someone elses overclock settings and then start bleating when it all goes FUBAR! :o

Whats wrong with my PC. Its peeing me off now.

This is driving me nuts.

aarrrrgggghhhhhh

aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

ok I did do a Acronis (ASZ) backup.

I didnt do a full copy and paste someone elses bios settings. They just gave me an idea. NB I could run @ 1.18 (passed 10 runs of memtest with 4 sticks @ 1066). vcore was from my p35 board. RAM was 2.02 (add the 0.8v over volt).

I will run it at stock and see what happens. if needs be I will reinstall from the backup (all at stock).

I hate overclocking, why cant they make it so much simpler.

Heh you love it! :p

The only problem here and cause for stress is you, your trying to pull off a special overclock and have no patience and time for testing so you just ignore the basics and start freaking out when your game crashes!

Well you get some brownie points back for at least not laying into the ASUS P5Q-E and blaming your failed overclock on the board :D

Just so you know I had the exact same problem with CTD at any 450MHz-FSB and beyond, the [Auto] GTL settings for CPU-ref0, CPU-ref1 and NB-ref just don't get it right, ymmv . . .
