hi all, first post and im very new at all of this, ive just put together my first build and it starts up fine and lets you go in to the bios and so on,but it will not let you load a operating system it comes up with error code 0xc0000e9 can anyone help me in the right direction please

what hdd are you using? tried it on the other sata ports? and be sure to update to latest mb bios first from gigabytes website, flash through the bios using mem stick and qflash

just the bios

using a memory stick then update it in the boards bios through a memory stick and qflash

look through the bios pages and see if the Seagate hdd shows up,if not you might have issues

it will be in the hdd/boot priorities I think

that error code is to do with a piece of hardware connected to it(board) from what google says, either dvd drive or hdd

have you tried different sata ports on the motherboard?

Yeah I've disconnected both cables from the board, I have the HDD plugged into data port 0 which I hear is correct, and CD/DVD drive in port 1, I'm gonna take a guess that its gonna be the hard drive as it was a recon drive

Is all the RAM correctly inserted?
Do you have 4x 2GB sticks, if so, have you inserted the dual channel sticks into matching slots?
Are you using a 64-bit OS?
Have you tested the RAM on a different rig?

This.

Also out of interest and for future benefit of people who may find this thread, what was the solution to your initial problem?

I know its windows 8 I'll have to look what version in the morning, what difference would this make, I've got 2x4gb ram there in the correct slots to what the board says so, I got it to work but f12 on start up and choosing to boot through disc drive, which then partioned the drive and installed
