With the sales looming, I often try to look up or grab games that are maybe lesser know but certainly worth a play. One I've just come across is Blackwood Crossing, looks pretty good story wise.

Any one got any suggestions? I'd throw a nod to Rakuen if you like a good story/soundtrack over all else

Blackwood Crossing is good. Here are some of the indie games I played this year and really enjoyed:

Fran Bow
Downfall
The Cat Lady
What Remains of Edith Finch
Never Alone
Monochroma
The Park
Firewatch
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
Conarium
Event 0
Aragami
Layers of Fear (free right now on Humble bundle: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/...ayersoffear_deluxe_freegame&hmb_medium=banner )
Lifeless Planet
The Stanley Parable
Stories Untold
Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries (this game has it's flaws but it only last 2 hours and is still pretty cool)

Edit: Just had a look at Rakuen - looks like a good experience - wish listed. Cheers.

No worries :)

Thanks for this list! Edith finch is one I've been wanting to play for sure!

Good idea for a thread. Lesser known games that I like a lot;

Orcs Must Die 1 & 2
Defense Grid
Aztez
Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten
Domina
Invisible Inc.
Legend of Grimrock 1 & 2
X-Morph: Defense

Not all are old enough to be heavily discounted, but some of these usually get a 75% off discount in the Steam sales.

Ooo actually I think i own this from a humble bundle ages ago but not tried it out!
You should have a go at it. The gameplay is nothing ground breaking although I quite enjoyed the combat and some of the boss battles, but the game looks nice and it's a cool story. And then of course there is the lovely Trip to keep you company throughout...

Great list, thanks :)

I quite fancy trying Hollow Knight, maybe Dead Cells. Not such hidden gems I guess!

Spec ops the line is one I always give a nod to around sale time. Generic shooter I guess but really strong thought provoking story
