Hello. Right it all started one day when i attempted to play a game. It started to load then i blue screened. Upon turning it back on i found out that my screen had verticle lines now going down. These lines now change colour depending on what backgroun / things im looking at. If its dark blue / black the lines are red. If the thing is of a lighter colour its blue.

These lines cannot be captured on a screen shot so here is a picture that i have personally taken.

Ive tried a new graphics card, which works only the first time i go on my pc. After then the screen is some what scrammbled so i cannot see.

So ive tried a different card, tired uninstalling drivers and reinstalling them. I've tried new drivers.

Anyone got any ideas why? and how can i fix it :'(

Thanks,

The screen shoot is typical of video RAM failure I'm afraid. It shows images that are partially largely correct but with small flaws going down the screen..

Check the Video cable and connectors- just in case otherwise it's a new card.

You could always try re-seating the gpu heatsink. I had a similar issue a while back on an X1650 which was fixed by simply removing the heatsink; a good dusting and re-applying the heatsink (with new TM)

Ive just tried reseating the cooler ect. Still no good.

How will i be able to test if its over heating? My pc is picking it up in device manager but it has a yellow triangle ! mark. Divice Status, Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)

Only around £50-£60 from the MM.
