Put all the bits together, installed Win7 Ultimate x64 fine, then upgraded the Drivers etc.

Downloaded the Latest Nvidia Drivers 266.58, installed them and restarted the PC and the PC loads to Windows, you briefly see the desktop then the Video Card fans flat out and the screen goes black, putting the DVI cable into either of the DVI ports on the card results in the Monitor power light coming on for a few sec then the "no signal detected" message, then it just goes black again.

Can boot to Windows Safemode and remove the drivers and the PC Will happily boot into Windows Normal mode without any drivers, ive tried the 260.xx series of drivers too and they do the same thing

Any ideas?

Cheers all

Update:

Put a spare 9800GT i had in the Machine and it works fine, no issues whatsoever...

Tried the GTX460 in my older PC which has a Q6600, 4Gb of Ram, Asus P5K Mobo and only a 480w Tagan PSU and the PC Wont even boot so im guessing the Cards not getting enough power, could this be also why it wont work in the rig with the 650w PSU? Should i perhaps swap the PSU for a bigger one?

Any help or advice would be welcome

Si

Sounds like the 460 needs to be RMA'd, even if the PSU wasn't to the recommended spec to 'power' it while gaming it would still boot the PC and provide a picture while booting and on the desktop etc.

Its got 2 attached, the Coolermaster 650w PSU has 2, also they are the 6+2 variety, but its only requires the 2 x 6 pin bits.

Both are plugged into the card

I have a Molex to 6pin Convertor also, which is what i used on the Tagan 480w in my older rig to try and see if it would boot, but nope it wouldnt have any of it.

Its odd though that it'll boot to Safemode with the drivers installed, but just hangs on a Black Screen if you try to go into Windows Desktop mode, remove the drivers and reboot and it'll happily load windows, i thought it might be a driver issue hence trying 2 different sets of drivers but still the same problem...

Think it might be just a borked card that needs RMA'ing?
