PC Keeps Crashing

Hey guys, tell me if this is the wrong place, but I have an issue with my PC crashing.

A while back I had to replace my HDD with a new SSD and HDD. Before that a few months ago I had to buy a new Graphics Card and RAM Cards. Just giving you guys a timeline. Since the new HDD things haven't been working as planned. I say the new HDD but I'm not exactly sure when this started happening all I can tell you is that since then it has happened more often.

My PC is crashing, but in a weird way. It starts with the screen changing colour. The whole screen changes a colour instantly and stays that way. The only way to stop it is to reboot the PC. That worked fine until recently. Not it is happening every day, it's stopped changing colour and now it just goes dark. I know the PC is crashing as changing to HDMI or DMI shows the same thing. The Graphics card is months old. I can't believe that is causing this.

What do you guys think? I could really do with some advice on this. I am personally under the belief that this is due to my motherboard. It's about 7 years old and the oldest thing left on my PC I think.

Can you list your full system spec?

HDDs:
SSD-OCZ-AGILLITY3 -225GB.
HDD-Seagate Seagate Barracuda -2TB

GPU:
MSI HD 7850 OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express

Processor:
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 3.00GHZ.

RAM:
2x2GB Crossair XMS2

Motherboard:
Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3

This is all I can find from the Device Manager. The PC is very old and I can't find all the documentation. I can't find what model the PSU is either. If anyone knows how to find out that info I would appreciate it.

Most likely the graphics card. Try a different monitor to rule that out.

When you mean the whole screen changes colour, do you mean like this http://img.techpowerup.org/080401/DSCN2519a.jpg, or as in a solid colour and nothing else?

Can you borrow a friends graphics card for a few hours to test that?

It's a solid colour. One thing to note is that since posting this I have been using my HDMI cable and it has yet to crash. EDIT: It has crashed and multiple times since this post. It happens a lot more when I am playing games it seems.

I'll see what I can do about the graphics card.
