This is driving me crazy now!

Randomly the computer keeps restarting, never under load or playing games as intensive tasks are never carried out on this computer.

I have ran memtest and prime95 and the temps are good and the ram is fine.

The spec of the computer is:

OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive (OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G)
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 840 "95W Edition" 3.20GHz (Socket AM3)
Asus M4A88T-M AMD 880G (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard BeQuiet Pure Power L7 530W Power Supply
OCZ Platinum 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Ultra Low Voltage Dual Channel Kit (OCZ3P1600C9ELV4GK)

Please see below readout from hwmonitor.

Are the voltages ok?

Im not sure if this will help but,I had the exact same problem and it was that my ram voltage was to low.

Well don't take my word for it because I'm no expert but 1.04v for Vcore seems a little low... Wait until you get more responses to determine the cause.

These kind of stick out a bit

Yeah I know they are off but as far as I am aware the minus voltages were irrelevant, but I may be mistaken??

PCI slots I think have -12v pin and serial connections/ISA used to use them.

The ATX spec says that the -ve voltages should not vary by more than +/-10%, the +ve voltages have a +/-5% tolerance.

It may be nothing but it also may point to issues with the PSU, have you got another you can try.

Sorry for late reply been on holiday!

Ok so it seems that the -voltages are quite a way out!

Unforuntely i dont have anything else i can test it with, do you think an RMA is in order? Could these varied voltages be causing the restart issue?

You either have a very old PSU or the software isn't reading at least some of the voltages correctly.

-5V was optional as part of the ATX spec. from January 2002 and was prohibited in April 2003.

I'm not saying it's not the PSU and if the +12V reading is correct it's outside of the ATX spec. of 11.4-12.6V.

Have a look in the BIOS. You can usually find voltage readings there which may give you another perspective.
