Pc kills wifi connection.

You'll have to give more information.
  • What is the 'correct' speed?
  • What speed is it actually running at?
  • Have you checked the NIC configuration in Windows (assuming Windows, you haven't mentioned) (IP, subnet, duplex, port speed etc)?
  • What do you mean by 'kills wifi'? Wifi on the device, or wifi around the home?
Without more details I might was well take a wild guess at an IP conflict.

Windows 11 system
Correct speed is between 58 and 63 mbps and pc is on ethernet and have other devices on WiFi and they are getting about1.8mbps when pc is turned on even with the ethernet cable unplugged. I'm unsure of other details.
Thanks for the help.

Make and model of network card, as requested above a screenshot of the network card configuration would be good.

And are you connecting to both cabled ethernet and wifi at the same time?

Finally, make and model of the WiFi access point/router device.

If you're unsure what network card you're using, list your full PC specs, assuming you're using the one inbuilt on the motherboard it'll be easy for us to find the correct information from that.

When you say completely kills WiFi, do you mean all your other wireless devices (eg phones) lose connection? Or do they still stay connected, but no internet access?

In one of the previous posts he says the other wireless clients drop down to 11Mbps. I'm wondering if maybe the Wireless LAN card in the PC is set to 2.4GHz b or n and it's pulling the whole network back to the slowest client (which is what they should do unless you switch off legacy clients in the settings on better access points).

The fact that they're still running would probably suggest it's not got two connections (packet storm) as that usually stops everything dead.

Hi I'm unsure of network card as only have wired connection here are specs

asus b550 f gaming, ryzen 5 5600x, ddr4 16 gb 3600mhz ram, 500g m.2, vision rtx 3060ti, phanteks psu 750w, lian li galahad 240mm aio, lian li sl 120 fans, 011d mini Snow White.

When i start my pc up the Internet is fine for a minute or two and then all connections wireless and wired run at about 1.7-2.8 mbps. I even disconnected the ethernet from pc and it still caused this issue
Thanks

Looking up the Asus site there's no WiFi on that board, just the Intel I225-V ethernet network adapter.

You haven't mentioned what router you're using and if you're using a direct cable between the PC and router or using something like powerlines.

What else is the switch connected to? Tried unplugging everything else on the switch leaving only the PC and router? If possible can you test without the switch? In case it's the switch at fault.
