hello everyone :) bare with me as this is my first post.

Now to my question.Currently I have a ViewSonic 19in VX942 monitor displayed max at 1280 by 1024 resolution which is connected to my PC and to my Xbox 360 which I enjoy most. However,to my understanding, the Xbox is best viewed in widescreen format so I been looking to upgrade my PC monitor with an Widescreen one at a decent size but they all varied in resolution, quality and price. So I thought! would it be best if I brought a HDTV and use it primary with my PC and Xbox. So,I came up with this TV which caught my eye and kindly need your thoughts about it.Its a Samsung Neo Mosel LE32N73BDX 32" HD Ready Freeview LCD TV within reasonable price range.

Would it be beneficial for me having a HDTV for my PC and Xbox 360 or invest getting a 20 plus size widescreen PC monitor?

Any feedback or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forums!

32" sounds a tad big to me - and as a monitor the res. will be 1366 X 768, and consider that a normal 19" widescreen monitor is 1440 X 900 res.

Sounds great as a TV for video/TV/360, but not so good as a monitor.

I second what saintly has said.
I've hooked up my Xbox 360 to a friends 40" version of the Samsung you are looking at buying.
Compared to my Viewsonic VX924, you can see that the Viewsonic is far better.
I did this to prove a point to him so I had no need to unplug a PC and take it over to his house.

I get what you want to do as I want to replace my monitor with a 22" widescreen to use with a PC and Xbox 360.
Currently the only 22" monitor I would buy has a ghosting issue (take a look at the Asus MW221U) post.
There has been a lot of talk that 2007 will be the year of the 22" widescreen monitor.
I doubt it wont be too long before Viewsonic release a newer 22" widescreen that will get great reviews.

You probably have the same dilema as me, buy now or wait?
