Yo

I dont know if anyone knows of a way of securing a computer (laptop specifically) so that the entire contents of the hard drive and bios are locked unless I place a USB stick (with something or other on it) in one of the usb ports.

Perferably to the point of even if they took out the hard drive and put it in another computer or laptop they couldnt access it.

Cheers

yup

xp encryption will sort this out

make sure you password is set not to expire though, and don't change it as files will be unreadable!

they cannot be read by any other computer unless you make a floppy key backup (i would and keep it safe!!)

Besides you need a system where the drives contents are encrypted not just a passkey at logon otherwise if the data is extracted it can easily be read, depends what he meant by locked out though.
