PC making loud noise...

So I've had my PC for around a year and 3 months now, and everything's been perfect up to now. Recently on startups my PC has been making loud noises, it sounds like the fans but I'm not too sure what's going on, and it's quite peculiar and worrying. To fix it I've just been fiddling about with the cables on the back of the PC including the PSU and then it seems to fix itself, but then it happens again when I turn it back on the next day.

Any ideas as to what it could be? All help appreciated.
Thanks

Not very detailed, what does it sound like, anything you can record it with?

Take the side panel off the case and see if you can locate where it is...

Sounds like the heatsink fan isn't starting up straight away.

I've seen fans "twitch" for a few seconds and then the fan suddenly kicks in at full chat to combat the built up heat, it does make quite a racket on stock coolers. The sound then goes just as suddenly as the temps get under control and the fan speed drops.
