Hi all,

My PC is now 9 years old and Windows 10. It overheats with most games and is a Windows 10 that can't be upgrade to Windows 11 as it doesn't meet the specification required. So I thought it is probably time to go for something new. With Windows 10 reaching end of support this year, I've even managed to convince the wife that it is needed but she's a bit more budget minded than I am. I've had a play around for the last few hours and have come up with:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,237.93 (includes delivery: £7.99)

Case wise, I came across the "Montech XR ATX Mid Tower Case" which seems to work but really just want a case that works and has enough fans, preferably on the quiet side.

I was wondering what you guys thought of this build or if any improvements can be made without pushing the price up further. If its possible to save a bit of money without any significant impact on performance, that would be good too as the wife may not be up for the £1300 spend.

Use will be some gaming (Baldurs Gate 3, Helldivers 2, WoW, Fortnite etc) and general PC use and web browsing.

Any help appreciated :)

This is the best I could do, to save a bit without changing main parts you chose meaningfully.

CPU cooler is in the CPU box.

If you wanted to make a bigger impact, look into the 7500F, since it can be had very cheap and performs well, leaving you a big future upgrade to e.g. a 9800X3D in a few years.

Alternatively, if you wanted to save a lot more:

Thanks for those. I'm planning on an AMD build this time round as ive always gone Intel in the past so just fancy trying something new. I'll take a look at what you've suggested though.

Im pretty sure there's no CPU cooler in the box for the 12600k. I just bought one from amazon for the same price, but definitely no cooler. Not a problem for me as I'm upgrading a 12100 so ill just reuse my noctua.
