PC no longer boots with 4 gig memory but does with 2 gig?

Hey guys I just recently turned my pc off....what a mistake that was :mad:

I have an Asus P5B motherboard. When I switched it back on the fans would all go loud but not actually boot.

I went through the process of fault finding and found if I have 3 gig/4 gig it will switch on...no beeps but wont boot.

If i have 2 gig I can boot and am writing to you now...

What could possibly be wrong? I have checked memory its fine... has the motherboard gone?

i just tried latest bios, booted with all slots in no post (no beeps or nothing)

back to 2 gig again

and here I am running memtest on each stick :/

I went into the northbridge controller what setting do I need to increase please? its been a long time since I delved into these things

an update guys this worked!

Last question is is dram voltage to 2.00 ok? I have team extreme memory thanks
